On Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the Elbert County
Democratic Convention, Robert Thomasson announced
his candidacy for the District 3 Commissioner position
being vacated by John Metli. Thomasson stated,
“Citizens of Elbert County have lost their faith in county
government. People can no longer afford to just sit back
and hope for changes, but instead they need to stand up
and make the changes. I’m up to the challenge and look
forward to bringing honesty, integrity and transparency
back to Elbert County government.”
